I have actually created two websites, our own & someone elses. I used Microsoft Frontpage although with all the new web design programs out, what are some of the newest & best web designing programs out there?

Dreamweaver is definitely my preference when website designing. Very versatile. You have complete control of the codes, php, css, javascript, etc.

Dreamweaver doesn't create a clean code which causes loading problems in many browsers. I would recommend Wordpress or JOOMLA.

How about the open source Seamonkey it is the successor of the old Netscape Navigator I used to develop my websites back in the day...

Dreamweaver is the worst for clean code. I suggest learning code yourself. If you mean by designing in a graphics program then photoshop is the way to go. Photoshop and illustrator. I agree with others on this thread though. Using a cms like wordpress or joomla would make things a lot easier. But if you want total control over the look of the site then you would need extensive knowledge in those platforms as they use a lot of widgets and aren't straight one page code. There are includes everywhere

I've always preferred Dreamweaver and combine it with Photoshop for my graphics design. One thing I like about Dreamweaver is that I have total control with everything and I always check my designs with various browsers for compatibility before i upload the files to my webhost. But sometimes our clients would like to use Wordpress so I do use it when necessary.

I write my code by hand. I know many people tell me it is a waste of time but I prefer it. It keeps my code clean and to a minimum. When I want to make changes I don't end up with lost snippets that sit there and muck things up. I have made many websites though I have a small company and don't do as much as I used to. I use photoshop for graphics.

Ive tried many Html editing programs and i have to say i alwys come back to Dreamweaver, i just like the look and feel and its easy to use and thats important to me when i do any web designing.

I am a web designer in an internet company and we use code editors where you create everything from scratch. Dreamweaver is a WYSIWYG editor, and generally leads to bad code and a confusing concept of the structure behind the fancy images and click able buttons. I now work in Aptana but thinking to give Sublime a shot. Did anyone ever used that program?
