What is going on with 4shared?

I used 4shared for a while and paid for the premium service. Then the price went way up and I reverted back to the simple membership. It doesn't have that much content anymore - a lot has been replaced by reviews

i had to register to access but did not have to pay. it's a pain to register but after that it's easy.

I think they just need you to register to get access to the downloads.

I registered and it works fine. My problem is when I follow a link from berglib, the book has often times been deleted.

I think the problem nowadays with 4shared is that they deleted a lot of files that was uploaded before on their site. So it is really frustrating to see a download link from 4shared then to discover it deleted after being forwarded to the link due to copyright claims, etc. The downloading still works great; you just have to login on the site before download.
