I love the television shows Scandal, Covert Affairs, and Twisted and wanted to know if anyone knew of any books with the same elements in them. For those who aren't familiar with shows, allow me to give a brief synopsis of what I am looking for in a book.

Covert Affairs is a spy thriller with the main character being a female spy for the CIA. She has a past with a rogue spy, a flirtation with a co-worker, and has fallen for some shady characters she encounters in the field. While, Annie is trained, she relies heavily on her instincts to solve cases.

Twisted is about a charismatic boy, Danny, who killed his Aunt, went away to juvvie and has come back to reclaim the rest of his life in high school (he's 16). The town is uneasy having Danny back in their midst and soon, another murder is committed. Throughout the show, the viewer isn't really certain if Danny is the killer or just a victim of circumstances. By the way, this show has elements of interracial love interests.

Scandal is a show where information is king. Set in DC, where everyone is trying to get and maintain power, and it often goes to people's heads, Olivia Pope is the person you go to to maintain your power. That said, I am looking fro books with political machinations.
