    Request1 Urban fantasy recommendations?

So, I'm out of good "gun or sword?" type of books!
Authors I usually devour are: Ilona Andrews, Nalini Singh (Guild Hunter), Ann Aguirre (Sirantha Jax)...
As well as the less romance more adventure: Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Kevin Hearne (Iron Druid Chronicles)...
All and any recommendations will be much appreciated!

My favorite urban fantasy book is the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning.

I second the Fever series - excellent! Another good one is Downside Ghosts by Stacia Kane. It's gritty and dark though. There is a lot of drug use, and the speech/dialect/slang is kind of annoying, but it gives the books a kind of authentic feel. I've heard Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin series is a good one as well, but haven't read it.

I've read Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin series and it's quite good -- one genuinely kickass female lead protagonist there. Kat Richardson's Greywalker series is also good (and there's not much romance in it), but it's more of a paranormal mystery/thriller. Also check out Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series, Seanan McGuire's October Daye series and InCryptid novels. Ilona Andrew's Magic series is also a good read.

    Thank you everyone!
I've already read the Karen Marie Moning Fever books, the Jeanine Frost Night Huntress books, the Kim Harrison Hollows (Ever After will be out in a little over a month! squee! Also her Madison Avery YA series is pretty decent too) and the Anita Blake (although I started to get a bit bored after book 6). And like I said I'm already a big Ilona fan... Love Kate and Curran but I really like the Edge series too and was quite sad that it's over now.

    Stacia Kane
    Karen Chance
Kat Richardson (No romance is just fine... I often actually like them more!)
    Jennifer Estep
    Faith Hunter
    Seanan McGuire

My reading list is nice and set for the new year!
Can anyone recommend the Jaye Wells Sabina Kane series? Red Headed Stepchild is book 1. Thinking of adding it to the TBR pile.

Sabina Kane Series is....good. Gritty, but also has a decent sense of "fun" if that makes any sense.

So to be clear - "gun or sword"-type would seem to indicate you don't want books where the lead is a race which is weapon-like unto itself? (ie, vampire, werewolf, etc.)

I have a list of 50+ best UF up somwhere, but I will try and include only the best of *those* here:
Blood Destiny series by Connie Suttle
Kitty Norville series by Carrie Vaughn
Kara Gillian series by Diana Rowland
Black Wings series by Christina Henry
Georgina Kincaid - Succubus series by Richelle Mead
    Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine
Persephone Alcmedi series by Linda Robertson
The Dark Ink Chronicles by Elle Jasper
    Mageri Series by Dannika Dark
Samantha Moon series by J.R. Rain
Rogue Mage series by Faith Hunter (a bit more sytopian future than UF, but still SO good.)
Rhiannon's Law series by J.A. Saare
Stella Mayweather Paranormal Series by Camilla Chafer
Coronets and Steel by Sherwood Smith (which also can get very historical, actually)
