Best E-reader/Tablet for Kids

My 9-year old daughter is turning into quite the reader and has recently requested an electronic option instead of the many "real" books she has. Any suggestions?

All depends on how much extra you want to give her. They all pretty much have ways to control what your child can buy or not buy. My almost 8 year old has a Kindle Fire lcd 2nd generation (first generation died while under warranty and was replaced with a second generation) and my problem with it was the carousel. If I put her on my account she could literally see every single book I had in my collection. There was no way to rectify it because as soon as you turned wifi back on they would all show back up. So I just put her on her own amazon account under my husband's name. The only money she has access to is gift cards. There is no credit card connected to the account. She has to have permission to buy anything. And even with all that I have to enter a password a few times to get it to the point where she can buy something. We browse together to make sure she doesn't go into areas that would pull up inappropriate subjects and books. We've had no issues with it, but it did take a while to set it up and make sure it was all locked down so that we knew she was secure.
