Swedish Tip: Leave the shoes by the door
In Sweden its unusual to wear shoes indoors, in fact, its rude as a guest to keep them on.
Taking of your shoes is good not only for liberating your feet and airing out your footwear, but also for keeping a cleaner home.
Imagine everything your shoes come in contact with, all that dust and dirt, bacteria and potentially harmful chemicals and toxins. You might leave a place or situation, but traces of it keeps you company all the way home. And then you keep spreading all that around in your house, leaving traces of it everywhere. Leaving shoes by the door means less vacuuming and mopping, less germs and toxins, and a safer and more people friendly home.

Same! It's rude to wear shoes into someone's place in Southeast Asian (eg Japan). People took off their shoes at the doorway
