Young man leaves family home and girlfriend behind when he
Goes to collage ,promising to come home every half term and holidays once he's settled down and found a job etc.
He hasn't returned home his girlfriend is getting mad over the phone he can't afford ot go home everything is more expensive than he thought it would be and he's already working as much as he can without falling asleep during class.
I can't remember how but he starts making money by being in porn films durring half term . While he is away filming he gets a call from his girlfriend arrived to find hes gone away (was a surprise visit now she's even more angry, he must have been lying to her all along ,he's got the money to visit home).
I think thay split up and he falls in love with someone he works with.someone back home reconise him ,trys to blackmail him into going out with him? When he refuses they send his family a video recording to his parents .( this is a older book).
