it's amazing, though I aways see it differently, sometimes I pretend only the first 1 exists and it isn't a trilogy/4 book series with short stories, cause I think it really stands best alone, as the sequels sort of undermine it. sometimes when I'm sad I like to acknowledge all 3 books in the trilogy, and sometimes I acknowledge book 4, even though it threads a lot of the same ground. and of course the shorts are great.
